Tribute to Com. SK Vyas ...

Com. SK Vyas passed away at 86 after three consecutive and massive heart attacks. He was admitted into a hospital at Jaipur on 1st of this month. All medical efforts became futile at 8.20 evening on 13th February 2015. He was Secretary General of Confederation of Central Govt. Employees' organisation till 2006 and President till 2013. 

We had been honoured by his kind presence in AIDAEA(HQ) National Conferences at Pune and Kolkata. I had the opportunity to witness his last speech as President in 14th National Conference of the Confederation at Kolkata in 2013. 

He was like a disciplined soldier. I was amazed of his lifestyle and witnessed his enormous energy at his age of 80. After deliberation of his long speech in our National Conference I never saw him vexed while answering questions one after another. He attended everyone. I became restless because I had duty to escort him to a railway retiring room for his luggage and then to the Station platform for his return journey to Jaipur. On reaching retiring room by my cab he had his toilet and bath at that cold winter night. He wore his casual dresses and put all garments accurately folded into a briefcase. Had his dinner. All he had been doing with running commentary on a 6CPC matter to me. He was a living dictionary of Govt. Rules and Regulations. His memory was too sharp. He was an idol to the associationists.

Its a great loss to all central govt. employees. The loss is irreparable. I on behalf of all leaders and members of All India Defence Accounts Employees Association Kolkata convey our deep condolence to his bereaved family.
